Hi all we hope you are keeping safe and well.
Extra Life Gaming Lounge is Sheffield's first dedicated video gaming cafe.
We are an independent small family run business that has been open for just a year.
We provide fresh cooked food along with hot and cold drinks, desserts and snacks all at very reasonable prices while allowing customers to play a wide variety of video games and consoles both current and retro with over 5000 games available to play.
All consoles and games are free to play for all our customers.
We provide catering and party's for groups of all ages for up to 35 people. We customise party's to order and aim to meet most needs this includes both dietary preference and video consoles and games that can be provided on request.
Over the year we have been open we have built a great community meeting place hosting regular D&D nights and monthly competition nights all of which are free to enter for our customers.
We have have already established a great following and have built many great relationships and friendships with other social groups and community's providing a meet up place for regular gatherings.
Extra Life Gaming Lounge works closely with other local gaming businesses, charity's and education groups to provide a great warm and welcoming meeting place and help grow a positive gaming and nerd culture within Sheffield.
Our premises has also been very popular with many people with social and learning difficulties and we have built a supportive and friendly space where people feel safe and comfortable to enjoy the services we provide.
We are very proud of this aspect and feel it delivers a very important service within the community.
Now that we have given you the background of what we do it is time to explain why we are here.
During the global COVID-19 Crisis Extra Life Gaming Lounge has had to close its doors during lock down. As a new small family run business we do not have a huge amount of resources available to us and as a result the lock down has really hit us hard and the longer this goes on the harder it will become.
We really want to be able to carry on doing what we do best for the great community that has built up around Extra Life Gaming Lounge. To some the visit to our place is the only regular social and recreational interaction they have and this is very important to us.
To have the chance to survive lock down and re-open we really need your help and any amount small or large will mean the world to us and our community.
The money raised will go to pay our monthly overheads while we are closed and enable us to re-open the cafe after the lock down.
Dependant on how long the lock down continues and how much funding is raised we are hoping to be in a position to hold a re-opening and thank you party along with other events (to be Planned) for those who supported us during this time.
