<div>Ik ben Eva Mol, een Nederlandse pararoeister met een paralympische droom. In het dagelijkse leven zit ik, door een spierziekte, in een rolstoel. Ik roei in de PR1 categorie. Dat doe ik in een aangepaste skiff met zijdrijvers. Ik zit vast in mijn boot en roei alleen met mijn armen.

<div>In februari 2022 begon ik met roeien, naast al jaren in het Nederlands team paraklimmen te zitten en daar bij de wereldtop mee te draaien. In 2023 roeide ik mijn eerste internationale wedstrijd seizoen. Ik deed mee aan de worldcup, EK en WK. Op de pararowing regatta in Gavirate werd ik twee keer derde! Indoor werd ik Europees en wereldkampioen op de 500 meter en wereldkampioen op de 2km. Daarnaast heb ik indoor meerdere wereldrecords op mijn naam staan.

<div>Op het WK in Belgrado miste ik op een haar na de internationale paralympische limiet. In 2024 wil ik me alsnog proberen te plaatsen voor de Paralympische Spelen in Parijs. Ik maak op dit moment geen deel uit van het Nederlands team pararoeien. Hierdoor zijn alle kosten voor mijzelf, mijn coach en begeleider voor eigen rekening. Met dit jaar een trainingskamp, EK, het paralympische kwalificatie toernooi en een worldcup op de planning, lopen de kosten behoorlijk snel op.

<div>Om komend seizoen mogelijk te maken en een paralympische droom te realiseren wordt een crowdfunding gestart. Iedere bijdrage is welkom, hoe klein ook.

<div>Eva Mol is a Dutch para-rower with a Paralympic dream. Eva has a muscular disease and uses a wheelchair in daily life. She rows in the PR1 category. In this category rowers use a modified skiff with flotations. They row in a fixed seat with backrest with their arms only.

<div>Eva, who has been on the Dutch paraclimbing team for years, started rowing in February 2022. In 2023 she rowed her first international competition season. She participated in the World Cup, European Championships and World Championships. At the pararowing regatta in Gavirate, Eva came third twice! Eva became European and world champion in the 500 meters and world champion in the 2km indoors. Eva also has several indoor world records to her name.

<div>At the 2023 World Championships in Belgrade, Eva narrowly missed the international Paralympic limit. In 2024, she wants to continue trying to qualify her boat for the Paralympic Games in Paris. Eva currently isn’t part of the Dutch para rowing team. As a result, all costs are for her own account, including the costs for her coach and assistant. With a training camp, European Championships, the Paralympic qualifying tournament and a World Cup planned this year, the costs are rising quite quickly.
