I am a parent of one of the boys on Miami Beach MBS 2002 Soccer team. The MBS 2002 are a very popular soccer club for boys and girls ranging from 10 to under 18 year olds based at Miami Beach Recreational Center in Miami Beach.
The soccer program has been running for about ten years. The club has very strong links to its local community and to Miami Beach High School. Our matches are well attended by local parents and an increasing number of spectators from the local community.
We are very proud of our achievements and the hard work of a lot of people connected with the club has also led to on-field success. Our MBS 2002 team recently qualified for ESPN Disney Showcase that will be held in Orlando in December, 2018.
Miami Beach Soccer MBS 2002 Team is ranked 23rd in the State of Florida and have applied to Bethesda Premier Cup scheduled for November 16 – 18, 2018. This tournament is one of the top competitive youth soccer tournaments for the Country. All the top college coaches attend; giving our team exposure to opportunities they would not otherwise be afforded.
Sadly, the parents don’t have the financial resources to enable their boys to travel to the tournament in Bethesda, Maryland. As a team, we are fundraising to alleviate the costs, but have not reached our goal, as yet. A monetary donation from you would go far to help the boys travel. Your donation would also ensure that all players regardless of economic status have opportunities to compete and enjoy participating at a higher level.
To further minimize expenses, half of the team will be travelling alone, the parents who plan on going have committed to chaperone this group of 15 and 16 year old boys.
The likely breakdown of the expenses we anticipate are as follows:
Airline Tickets $4,700
Tournament Fees $1,300
Coaching Fees $1,000
Hotel cost for the boys travelling alone $1,000 (They will all bunk in 2 rooms)
