THE FRIGHTENING PROBLEM...

Every day, another woman is verbally or physically violated and has absolutely no means to protect herself, or ensure her own safety.  The following scenarios were actual, real life acts of aggression against women that were reported in the news:

Real Life Scenario #1 - A man tried to rape a woman as she was walking with her baby in a stroller.  According to reports, the man pushed the 20-year-old woman to the ground on the New England Thruway overpass by Coop City in The Bronx, got on top of her and tried to remove her pants.

Real Life Scenario #2 - A woman who was walking home early one Friday morning was attacked and raped on her front lawn in Freeport, New York.  Nassau County police said a stranger attacked the woman on her own front lawn at some point around 1:30 a.m., hitting the 36-year-old victim in the face and knocking her unconscious.  When she regained consciousness, she realized she was being sexually assaulted.

Real Life Scenario #3 - A 27-year-old woman from Australia was raped early one Thursday morning in Brooklyn while walking home alone.  The woman was walking in Williamsbridge around 2:20am when a man approached her from behind, pushed her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.

Real Life Scenario #4 - A 59-year-old woman was grabbed just after she parked her car around 2:30 a.m. one Sunday morning and was dragged behind a park bench, where she was raped.  According to reports, an unknown man came up behind her, grabbed her around the neck and pushed her up against a parked van at Prospect Park in Brooklyn.  The suspect told her he had a knife and a gun and allegedly told her, "I just got out of jail, don't move or I will kill you."  After the attack, the man broke the window of the parked van and forced the woman inside, where he tried to rape her again.  Apparently, he was unable to rape her a second time, so he stole $10.00 from her and told her to get out.

Real life acts of aggression against women such as these happen everyday.  This is a huge problem that can be averted, only if the intended victim has the necessary mindset and skills to stop these acts from happening.  Picture your daughter, mother, grandmother or your favorite aunt (or even yourself) being the unlucky victim of one of these attacks.  How would you feel knowing that your or your loved one was helpless to stop this from happening?  Wouldn't you want to have the knowledge and ability to protect yourself and ensure your own safety?

Leader Self-Defense has the solution to this problem.

THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM...

Over the past 4 years, I have been on a mission to create something incredible that will inspire and empower females to be the best possible version of themselves.  I have had the privilege of working with an incredible and diverse group of women (and girls) in my journey to inspire and empower them.

While I have had some successes conducting self-defense workshops for a girls mentoring group in my community, as well as some family workshops and private one-on-one trainings, I need to do more.   How so?  Well, in order to do more, we need to establish a prominent online presence and a physical center for community engagement in New York City, Long Island and Westchester County.  This is an integral step for us to fulfill our mission of empowering females. Creating a safe, supportive online platform and physical center of education and inspiration is vital to the empowerment process.

I have two goals in my mission to empower females:  To empower them to proactively realize their own potential and  build the self-confidence to skillfully handle verbal and physical confrontations through practical self-defense.

The first step of my journey to empower females was to write both my self-improvement book (coming July 2020) and my self-defense training program (completed in 2018).  The second step of my journey was to create Leader Self-Defense, LLC (established in July 2018) to engage females about the importance of self-defense and personal safety.  The third step of my journey is to create an online coaching platform and a physical center for self-defense and personal safety education based off of the my upcoming book and current training program.  This is where you as the donor come in.
