Help Essential Workers Pay Rent

Hi facebook friends, social media friends, and all friends far and wide.

I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say I am angry at our government and our leaders. I'm infuriated and disturbed that we're approaching the 1 year mark on this pandemic, and things have only continued to get worse. Especially worse for the essential working people that have been the back bone of our country's survival during this whole journey and yet are the main people continuously getting the short end of the stick. I keep asking myself, "why wont they help us? why won't they do something? do they not realize how much we are suffering?". Though I can't seem to think of an answer that makes sense, the fact of the matter is: people. need. help.

My goal with this fundraiser is to raise $10,000 so I can help at least 5 pre-selected essential workers to pay their rent.

I'm sure you're thinking, wow, $10,000 is a lot of money. But for 5 people to be able to pay their rent during a global pandemic, where the future is uncertain, it will lift off the weight of the world from their shoulders even if it is only for a month.

It may only be a spec out of the millions of those who are struggling right now because of this pandemic, but this is the part where we HAVE to learn to set our differences aside and truly come together to help each other survive.

I'm asking for your help. Not for me, but for others. Something needs to change. People need to be angry about this. Anger sparks change, and this is my spark.

NOTE:  Donee spots are limited because a) I have no idea how successful this will be and b) I know that everyone is struggling right now and that everyone needs the help, so I've narrowed it down the top 5 families/individuals I deemed most in need for relief out of the several I've spoken to about this.

Below are the 5 "causes", each representing 1 of the 5 people whom you'd be donating to, and a short briefing of their situation explaining why your donations matter.

#1 - Food & Bev worker and spouse, one of which has been working 6+ days a week since restaurants were able to reopen for inside-dining (who's hours will soon be reduced due to worsening COVID19 statistics), and the other who is a veteran that has been struggling to find work since the pandemic took over.

#2 - Food & Bev worker who has been working full time during the pandemic and ended up out of work for two weeks due to COVID19, who's hours will also soon be reduced due to worsening COVID19 statistics.

#3 - Special Education Teacher for a Title 1 school  grades K-5 who's workload has QUADRUPLED due to having to provide online and in person instructions and materials, and has had to use their own money out of pocket to pay for classroom supplies without any scheduled yearly raise from their district.

#4 - Pediatric Nurse who has been working on the frontlines since day 1, has survived COVID19, and who is now taking care of adults due to the overcrowding of COVID19 patients at the adult hospital.

#5 - Food & Bev worker, who has been working full-time during the pandemic, survived COVID19, and shortly after survived a domestic assault. They have lost income due to COVID19 workplace closures, and their hours will also soon be reduced due to worsening COVID19 statistics.
