<div>Hi, my name is Ira. I’m a 23 year old transgender man looking for assistance in funding my escape from an abusive situation with my family and household. These funds are going towards an immediate bond transfer, lease transfer and first month of rent for a new home, along with a final month of rent (my housemate is trying to make me pay an extra month's rent, even though I haven’t lived there for 5 months and have given notice to leave.)

<div>I am urgently escaping a housing situation that was made hostile and unliveable by the actions of current housemates, my family and the family of those housemates. The things that have caused my life to reach this point range from physical abuse, financial abuse, emotional abuse, homophobia, transphobia and sexual assault.

<div>The current house I live in consists of me and two other housemates. I was sexually assaulted by my housemate's brother who is a neo-nazi after being tasked to look after him by my other housemate when he came over without warning high on coke one night. They heard everything that happened, did not intervene and then instead decided to blame me for what happened to me. This act of sexual assault caused a flare up of my cyclical vomiting syndrome from stress and the fact he forced me to drink copious amounts of alcohol. I asked my housemate to call an ambulance to assist with my episode after vomiting blood for 48 hours. As soon as I returned from hospital, she said it upset her that she had to call and ambulance and forced me out of the home and into my parents home who have a history of physical, emotional, financial and sexual abuse toward me.

<div>After being forced out of my home by my housemate I was made to live at my parents home for months. They made me go back to an old psychiatrist of mine who is a right-wing traditional catholic who has told me that transgender people are deluded and (in the past before I came out) told me that I was “only gay because I was molested.” The psychiatrist reported back to my parents who made me go on high doses of medication that made my cyclical vomiting worse, gave me heart problems and made me extremely drowsy. When I tried to tell them the medication wasn't working gave me bad side effects, they took that as an opportunity to take further control of my life. They began organising meetings with my university and telling my teachers that I was mentally unwell and couldn’t do anything independently. They started taking all the money I was receiving from Centrelink, along with loans from school and saying it was because I was staying at their home (they wouldn't allow me to leave.) They used the money for paying off their mortgage, buying food, cosmetics and alcohol for themselves. I could not escape as their home is in a remote area that is an hour and half walk to the closest form of public transport. I was severely physically unwell and in and out of hospital during this time because of how they treated me, and I only managed to leave once I convinced them that my staying there was impinging on my academic achievement. I then went to live at my sharehouse again, where I experienced bullying and transphobia from my housemate. I have been staying at my girlfriend's place for five months now to escape the constant harassment, bullying and criticism from my housemate.

<div>The ripple effect that this period of my life has had is huge. It has caused massive physical, emotional and financial damage to the point where I cannot escape my current situation without financial assistance because of how large the sum of money is that my family has both taken from me, not just during that period but over almost a decade.

<div>The funds from this will be going to immediately moving in with my girlfriend into a home where both my parents and my rapist do not know my address. The housemate’s brother who raped me has prior charges for threatening to come to the houses of people he has assaulted in the past and kill them whilst on drugs. I need to escape this house so my parents can no longer come to my house and the man can no longer find me and I can safely press charges against him and also finally get the correct medical attention I need.
