My name is Erika and I lived in a 2-bedroom apartment with my 3-year-old son. On 11/5/24, I woke up at 4 a.m. to banging on my door and hearing people yelling. I jumped up and heard, "Fire department." I jumped out of bed, confused, only for it to be water up to my knees. Everything was underwater. I went into the living room and felt the floorboards coming up and my refrigerator flipped over. I couldn't make it any further. The firefighters were able to get in. They went to the room, got my son, got my dog, and then got me. Shortly after, water was up to my bedroom window. Unfortunately, we lost pretty much everything, including all of our furniture. We have to start over in a new place. Anything and everything helps. ❤️‍
