<div>On Thursday, October 2, a propane gas leak caused a devastating explosion inside my husband’s food truck at the Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival in Chatham County. Eric sustained burns over about 30% of his body and is now being treated at the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center in Chapel Hill. He faces a long road ahead — multiple surgeries, intensive therapy, and months of recovery.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you know Eric, you know he is the definition of energy. He’s always moving, always connecting, always bringing life to the people around him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>When I arrived at the ER, I was flooded with emotion.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Emotion because seeing the extensive second and third degree burns on his hands and arms was heartbreaking, and his face bore the marks of the fire.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>— but also relief.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Relief that even in the midst of such pain, Eric’s sense of humor and charm were still intact. True to himself, he was trying to make others comfortable, even while suffering deeply. That’s Eric: resilient, kind, and full of heart.

<div><strong>Why We Need Your Help</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The medical bills, rehabilitation costs, medications, and the financial strain of being out of work are already mounting. Doctors estimate that Eric will need treatment at the burn center for at least three months. Your support will go directly toward:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li>Surgeries, hospital care, and burn treatments
</li>
<li>Physical therapy and rehabilitation
</li>
<li>Wound care and medications
</li>
<li>Living expenses while Eric is unable to work
</li>
</ul>

</div>
<div><strong>How You Can Help</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference in helping Eric heal and allowing our family to focus on his recovery. If you’re not able to give financially, please consider sharing this campaign with others who know and love Eric.

<div><br />
</div>
<div>From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and prayers. We are so grateful for the community surrounding us in this incredibly difficult time.
