Help Eric Spear beat Lung Cancer



Hello everybody!  Some of you might know my husband from Signal Mountain Taxi or maybe he delivers your Chattanooga-Times newpaper every morning.  Eric attended South Hadley High School in South Hadley, Massachusetts. Six years ago, he followed me to Tennessee. Eric is a Veteran of the United States Army and National Guard and uses the VA Medical Center in Nashville. Just a few weeks ago we found out that Eric has lung cancer.  After several trips to Nashville for tests, it has been determined that he has  Stage 2 non-small cell carcinoma.  The tumor is 7 cm and close to the main artery.  After his mediastinoscopy on July 17 returned negative results on the surrounding lymph nodes, his doctor has given the green light for the complete removal of his right lung (pneumonectomy) on July 24th.  This will most likely be followed by chemotherapy and radiation.  Eric will spend several days in the ICU following this surgery.  Once he returns home, he will not be allowed to return to work for at least 6 weeks.  I will be taking time off from my job at Southern Star to be with him at the hospital in Nashville and for a few weeks when he returns home.  I would appreciate all my friends and families support during this incredibly stressful and difficult time.  I'm just asking for some financial support for bills, additional medical expenses and  travel expenses to and from Nashville.  I will have to provide lodging for myself while in Nashville during his surgery and hospital stay.  Anything you can donate would be wonderful and help ease our minds during this ordeal.  Much thanks and love.
