Help Equip a Rural School in Southern Morocco

Hi, my name is Naima and I am fundraising to help equip an educational and cultural centre located in rural berber Morocco for the benefit of disadvantaged children and women.

Last year, we raised money to help in the construction and renovation efforts of an abandoned classroom in the Amazigh village of Iminitizekht, home to my ancestral Amazigh tribe, in the heart of the Berber Anti-Atlas Mountains, south-east of Morocco. The centre is the sole educational and cultural outlet for dozens of local disadvantaged children, youth and women of the area.

The centre, with your help and with the efforts of many hard-working local volunteers is now fully operational and is offering many workshops.

In order to expand the services offered to the local children, youth and women, the local NGO in charge of the development of the centre (AIDECO Iminitizkhet) needs our help in order to procure the necessary equipment and school supplies. Currently, efforts are being made to offer the students access to the outside world via technology, as well as to procure sewing machines to empower local young women for financial independence.

For that purpose, the center is in need of:

- A Flat screen

- Mobile Wi-Fi device (annual subscription)

- A sewing machine

 

The approximate cost of the above is estimated to be around CAD $2000.
