Help Equator through Covid-19

Donation protected

Equator Bar has been a member of Birmingham’s gay scene for over 19 years. Debbie, Josh, Pops and the staff have worked continuously to make sure that members of the LGBTQ community and their friends have had a friendly, welcoming place to go to whenever they visit Hurst St.

Debbie and the team have supported many people on the scene through difficult times, they have been there through both the good times and the bad, and they have worked hard to offer an inclusive and safe space for EVERYONE, no matter of sexuality, age, gender identity or locality.  Whoever you are and where ever you are from, you are always made to feel at home.

Covid-19 has had an impact on everyone, and it will do for some time to come. Bars, clubs and restaurants are going to feel this impact more than most, none more so than small, family run venues like Equator.

These venues do not have reserves of cash to call upon to help them through the months to come, nor are they able to wait for the proposed support from the government to help pay their rent, bills and staff wages. They urgently need help now, and if, like me, you know the help Debbie and the team have given to others, you will want to help them through this.

My idea is simple, let’s just buy a drink. You know what you like, and you know what it costs - if everyone just buys a drink or two, as if they were there in person, we can at least help Equator weather this storm until we are able to meet up again in person.

Oh and as always, Pops will have a little one!!

Thank you xxx
