Help Enid Walk Again!

Dear Friends Of Enid,

You may have noticed our girl hobbling around the past few years. She's had some problems with her knees for quite awhile now and it's become serious enough that she needs surgery. 

We simply can't stand by and let Enid suffer this way so several of us have started this fund-raising effort to help her get the operation she needs and not lose her house or starve in the process. We know we're not the only ones who love her and want to help.

While Enid has been a dedicated worker for many, many years, she hasn't been able to save any money for emergencies such as this one. She does qualify for some medical coverage for knee surgery, but the reason she's been putting it off for so long is that she has no money to live on without working. She'll be unable to work for 2-3 months after this operation!

We know it will cost A LOT but life without being able to walk (when a relatively common surgery could fix the problem) is a severely hampered existence. Enid deserves so much better! 

Enid will have to pay a high deductible for the surgery but we're hoping the hospital stay will be covered by Medicare.  We're not sure about post-op doctor's visits, rehab, physical therapy, etc. We may not know any of these figures until Enid is already in post-op. That's why we've buffered the funding amount, just in case she has to pay out-of-pocket medical bills on top of regular living expenses.

Her operation will most likely be in November and rehab would occur during the holidays and into next year. That's why we're starting this fund raising effort now, so Enid can rest assured she will be financially safe while she heals up.
