Help End Veteran Suicide

No one knows a Veteran better than a Veteran. And with your help we will be able to create the first Veteran to Veteran peer network and interface to help Veterans in need connect to each other in their darkest times. This application will save lives, and help curb the suicide rate that we have at 22 in the nation per day. This application guarantees that if a Veteran needs help in anyway a Veteran around him/her can connect to someone that understands in seconds, not minutes.

Why I Founded This, By Justin Vames (President)

After losing another more than one of my best friends to suicide, I knew something had to be done. This is how the idea and start of "Never Alone Inc, A Veteran Non-Profit" occurred. A Non-Profit that strives to be a front runner for the reduction and elimination of Veteran Suicide. Our Veterans risked their lives for us, now it's time to pay it back.

Let's make sure "Every Veteran Finds Tomorrow"

Founders Story

Hello All,

Thank you for visiting our non profit! My name is Justin Vames, and I am a passionate veteran and founder of Never Alone Inc. I was injured overseas both physically and mentally through my two tours. After retiring out honorably from the military in 2015 I not only was lost, but depressed as well. After five years in the military I did not know how to cope with being a civilian and also with my emotions. From 2015 to 2017 I tried to commit suicide three separate times, and fought suicidal ideations for years. It was the darkest, coldest, and most hopeless place I have ever found myself in. I wouldn't wish what I went through on my worst enemy, ever. Even with family support I still felt like they did not understand, even though they were trying.

Like many veterans we move back to our home town to “hopefully” start a new life for ourselves. Unfortunately this did not happen for me until I found the right network of Veterans to help me succeed. It took three years to finally find myself, learn apathy, empathy, peace, and how to love myself so I could love others. I was diagnosed with 100% Permanent and Total PTSD in 2016 which paved a way to the first stepping stones of progress. Honestly the help from other veterans in the community is probably the reason I am still here today and not in a grave. I thank those Veterans that helped me and pulled me out of the dark abyss. I finally understand how it feels and looks to be a veteran with "suicidal ideations" outside of the box due to my own experience.

I have personally lost eight of my friends I deployed with due to suicide. Suicide doesn’t just destroy the person that commits it, but destroys family, friends, and the community as a whole. We are now facing a epidemic in huge proportions in the United States when it comes top suicide as a whole. In the veteran community we lose 22 service members a day to suicide. One person committing a suicide is too many, and twenty two is devastating to our society. Due to this I decided to start a non-profit named “Never Alone Inc” that is based out of Denver, Co on August 14th, 2020.

The mobile application we are working to develop is to help curb suicide rates in veterans. Like I said “a veteran knows a veteran better than anyone” and it was a group of veterans that pulled me back to safety……from myself. This application will be for iOS and Android phones, and will extend across the nation, and on military bases around the world such as Vicenza, Korea, Japan. It is a network based by veterans for veterans. I know deep down in my heart that if we save one life, we have done our jobs. Please check out the implementation of the application we are developing by clicking read more.

Again, I want to thank everyone that helped me get to where I am today, truly. I now know what I must do to help others that are facing the same demons I once faced. Create something that has never been created before to help Veterans in all walks of life link up when times get tough!
