On Monday August 21st Emmerson was at the doctor's office for an ear ache when Heather mentioned that she bruises very easily and she had been really tired the day before at her 3rd birthday party. So the provider asked them to come back the next day for some blood tests to determine what was going on. Flash forward to Wednesday August 23rd Emmerson and her parents received her official diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Currently Emmerson and her parents Heather and Jesse are staying at the Janet Weis Children's hospital in Danville,PA to start her treatments. Neither parent has left her side and do not plan to any time soon.
Both parents work full time and will be missing work and traveling back and forth to Danville for weekly treatments and hospitalizations for the next six months. After that the appointments will be less frequent but still regularly occurring.
