Help Support Elliot’s Upcoming Heart Surgery Journey

Hi everyone,

Our family is preparing for another big chapter in our sweet boy’s heart journey. As many of you know, Elliot was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) — a rare and serious congenital heart defect where the left side of his heart didn’t fully develop. In his short two years, he’s already been through more than most adults ever face, including multiple surgeries and countless hospital stays. Through it all, he’s shown incredible strength, courage, and the brightest little smile that keeps us going.

We recently learned that Elliot’s third open-heart surgery will take place this coming January, and we’ll need to travel out of state for the procedure. This surgery is a major one — the next step in giving his heart the best chance to keep growing with him. We’re praying for the best-case scenario, where recovery takes about a month, but we also know it could be longer depending on how his heart heals.

Our whole family will travel together for Elliot’s surgery so we can all be there when he goes in and during the initial recovery period. Once we know he’s stable and starting to heal, my husband and our daughters will return home while I stay with Elliot for the remainder of his hospital stay. My husband will also be traveling back and forth with the girls to visit, all while juggling work and caring for them at home. On top of that, he’ll need to take some unpaid time off work throughout this process, which will add to the financial strain.

We’re creating this GoFundMe to help ease some of the financial stress that comes with traveling for surgery and the long hospital stay ahead. Any donation, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference for our family — helping cover the costs of travel, lodging, food, and lost income so we can focus fully on helping Elliot recover.
