 Ellen is uitgenodigd om Nederland te vertegenwoordigen in de -57kg klasse op het WK Powerlifting voor Masters in de Verenigde Staten. Deze uitnodiging is het resultaat van een bijzonder traject dat nog geen jaar geleden begon.

 Eind 2025 deed Ellen mee aan haar eerste beginnerswedstrijd en behaalde direct een tweede plaats. In mei volgde haar tweede wedstrijd, waar zij zich kwalificeerde voor het Nederlands Kampioenschap in juni 2026. Ook daar werd zij tweede in de leeftijdscategorie zestigplus. Kort daarna ontving zij de officiële uitnodiging voor het WK Powerlifting voor Masters, een prestatie die laat zien hoe snel zij zich heeft ontwikkeld tot een sterke en toegewijde atleet.

 Om Ellen naar het WK te helpen, hebben wij jullie steun nodig. De Nederlandse Powerlifting Bond vergoedt helaas niets voor masters atleten. Alle kosten zoals inschrijfgeld, anti doping kosten, coaching, reis en verblijf zijn volledig voor eigen rekening. In het reglement staat dat bij internationale masterwedstrijden zelfs de coach niet wordt vergoed. Hierdoor wordt deelname aan internationale wedstrijden voor veel atleten vrijwel onmogelijk gemaakt.

 Omdat Ellen het dubbel vindt om financiële steun te vragen, is deze crowdfundactie opgezet door familie en vrienden. Wij willen dat zij Nederland kan vertegenwoordigen in de klasse tot 57kg en dat zij deze unieke kans kan benutten. Het doelbedrag is 2500 euro. Dit bedrag wordt gebruikt om het grootste deel van de kosten te dekken. Als er meer wordt opgehaald dan het doelbedrag of als de kosten lager uitvallen, dan doneert Ellen het resterende bedrag aan een goed doel.
