<div>Hi, I’m Elle — a performance/visual artist &amp; Dj, living and working between London &amp; EU. For nearly three years, I’ve been on my journey of medical transition, and I’m now preparing for gender-affirming surgery, which I hope to have around  February 2026.

<div>These surgery’s are a deeply personal and life-affirming milestone for me, It’s about finally finding peace in a body that has carried me through the world with so much courage, pain, and resilience. It’s about being able to exist without the constant noise of dysphoria and without the daily dissonance that will profoundly impact my mental health and wellbeing.

<div>Living as a Black trans woman visibly in Europe means facing constant scrutiny and risk, it’s an act of survival. Every day brings small and large aggressions: the stares, the comments, the laughter,  the threat of violence that lingers in small spaces, the danger that comes from simply existing in public. It’s a constant negotiation between wanting to be free and needing to be safe.

<div>I can’t overstate how hard it is to live under that weight — or how strong trans people are to face it, every single day, and still choose life, joy, authenticity and to show up as ourselves in a world that so often denies our right to exist.

<div>This surgery is a way to reclaim safety and joy in my own body — to reduce the daily fear, the dysphoria, and the exhaustion that comes with being read, questioned, or targeted. 
</div>

<div>It’s also an act of love towards myself, a way of saying:

<div>“you deserve to live fully, without pain or compromise”

<div>Gender dysphoria affects my mental health daily as It’s really exhausting to live inside a body that doesn’t always feel like home. These surgery’s will give me the freedom to breathe, to rest, and to move through the world without the constant ache of misalignment.

<div>I’ve never had surgery before. It’s both exciting and terrifying, especially in a world that feels increasingly hostile towards trans people. With UK laws and transphobia growing both online and on the streets, accessing this care feels urgent. 
</div>

<div>My work is deeply physical. I create with my whole body — it’s my instrument and my archive. Recovery will take a long time, and I know it will be a slow and humbling process. But this step will allow me to return to my work stronger, freer, and more grounded in myself, and I’m so excited for the work I will make from there!
