<div>In December 2024, my younger sister was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) — B-cell type. It was one of the hardest days of our lives. She’s always been the light in our family: full of energy, laughter, and compassion. When her doctors told us she needed a bone marrow transplant, I didn’t hesitate for a moment to get tested. When the results came back showing that I was a 100% match, it felt like fate — like I was meant to help her get a second chance at life.

<div>The first round of testing went smoothly, and we were preparing to move forward with her transplant. But due to medical delays, her procedure had to be postponed. When we finally got the green light months later, I underwent another series of evaluations and physicals to ensure I was still a viable donor. That’s when everything began to unravel.

<div>I started noticing strange symptoms — fatigue, dizziness, and most concerning of all, severe bleeding that didn’t stop. On August 7th, 2025, I was rushed to the hospital and received multiple blood transfusions to stabilize my condition. Those days were terrifying. My family and I didn’t know what was happening, and all I could think about was how I might lose the chance to help my sister. After four long days in the hospital, the doctors still didn’t have a clear answer. The uncertainty was suffocating.

<div>As my symptoms worsened, I couldn’t ignore the fear that something much more serious was happening. My sister — who was still battling her own cancer — was the one who pointed out how similar my symptoms were to what she had experienced: exhaustion, pain, difficulty breathing, and uncontrollable bleeding. I’ll never forget the day my doctor called to confirm what we had all begun to fear: I had endometrial cancer.

<div>It felt like my entire world stopped spinning. I went from preparing to save my sister’s life to fighting for my own. It was devastating. As her older sister, I’d always been the one to protect her, to carry the weight when things got hard. Suddenly, I couldn’t do that. Instead, we were now two sisters — both diagnosed with cancer — trying to stay strong for each other while our parents tried to hold the family together.

<div>At first, my doctors believed the cancer was stage one, which brought a glimmer of relief. But that relief was short-lived. During my second visit, new imaging revealed something unusual, and they expressed concern that it might be spreading beyond the uterus. That news broke me. The thought of another surgery, more tests, and more uncertainty felt unbearable.

<div>Meanwhile, life outside the hospital didn’t stop. My sister had just begun her recovery from her transplant, my parents were juggling time between both of us, and our beloved dog passed away during that same period. It was as if every piece of stability we had was slowly being stripped away.

<div>Now, both my sister and I are on medical leave — unpaid — while we focus on healing. The reality of losing two incomes and facing mounting medical bills has been overwhelming. Between treatment costs, travel to and from the hospital, medications, and basic living expenses, our family is struggling to stay afloat. We’ve always been hardworking and independent, but this is something we can’t face alone.

<div>My doctors have explained that my next steps will include surgery and potential follow-up treatment depending on how advanced the cancer is found to be. I’m mentally and physically preparing, though I admit it’s not easy. One of the most complex parts to process is that this diagnosis took away my ability to have children — something I haven’t fully come to terms with yet.

<div>Despite everything, I refuse to give up hope. My sister’s courage continues to inspire me every single day. She reminds me that even in the darkest times, we can still find light — in love, in family, and in the kindness of others. That’s why I’m here asking for your help.
