<div>On November 17th, my two close friends, Elina and Melody, were involved in a terrible accident in Montreal. While walking across the street, they were struck by an electric motorcycle that ran a red light. The accident caused significant injuries to both of them:

<div>Elina hit her head on the curb, suffering a concussion, along with cuts and bruises on her legs and hands.

<div>Melody sustained a hip fracture, requiring hospitalization and ongoing recovery.

<div>Since the accident, both Elina and Melody have been unable to work, and their financial stability has been severely impacted.

<div>Elina, a contractor working in construction, takes on physically demanding projects and is typically paid per project—often in cash. Although she has just started to return to work, her injuries still prevent her from performing many of her usual tasks, leaving her earning only a fraction of her previous income.

<div>Melody had just started a new job in Montreal on November 10th—only a few days before the accident. Sadly, Quebec’s organization for accident victims, SAAQ, does not provide compensation for electric motorcycle incidents, leaving Melody without any income. She is still in the hospital and has not been released to bear weight on her leg, with no clear timeline for recovery.

<div>The bills, however, haven’t stopped. Rent, car leases, phone payments, utilities, and basic needs like food are piling up. I am setting up this GoFundMe to raise $6,000 to help cover some of their essential expenses while they recover.

<div>This accident has not only been physically and emotionally traumatic for Elina and Melody, but it has also left them struggling financially, unsure of when things will return to normal.
