My name is Elijah Baker and I have been reporting, anchoring, and producing news for almost the past two years. I have told countless stories in Alpena, MI, which was my first TV market after graduating college. While working there, I got my feet wet and met some dope friends. God blessed you to help me move the first time, but now I am in need of your help to move again. I'l be starting my new adventure as a reporter for WHNT in Huntsville, Alabama. Due to cost of living out there, I estimated that I would need around $3,000 to help make the transition easier to my new home.
Rent is much more expensive in Huntsville in comparison to Alpena. I'm raising money to help pay upfront costs with moving including gas, food, apartment fees, and furniture. I also live with Type 1 diabetes, which makes it harder financially for me because of costs related to the disease. Whatever I had in my van when I first moved to Alpena will be traveling with me to Huntsville. I have a fold-out bed that I've been sleeping on for the past two years and I would like to afford a real bed.
Journalism is not a glamorous industry even though some people make it seem that way. You start off getting underpaid while working many hours in the hopes of becoming successful in the future. Huntsville is a larger city and with that comes higher costs. I'm working with what I have to make this transition but I'm also stretching my paycheck and holding my breath with uncertainty.

Broadcast Excellence Awards in 2019.
God has helped me walk through another door that He opened. I'll be leaving Michigan by September 13. I truly appreciate whatever amount, small or large, you may be able to give.
