Help Electric Goodies Expand!

Update! We did it :) We secured the perfect space in our dream building. Built in 1924, this shop has all the character and history to hold our collection of vintage and unique goods. This also means it has decades of the “landlord special” — chipping layered paint and holes in the wall. We are putting in the blood, sweat and tears in the space every night, but we need your continued support as we repair damages and give it a fresh coat of paint. Additionally, we’ve started collecting vendor applications for the collective be prepared to see some incredible small businesses line our walls and shelves.

Hi everyone! The time has come where Electric Goodies has found a dream retail space and it really feels like right time, right place. Electric Goodies is a shop that sells unique and vintage clothing and goods for all gender and sizes. Our current operations run out of Kiley’s basement, and thanks to all the support from our community and customers - we’ve outgrown it! We’ve found an incredible retail space in a great location that just screams Electric Goodies. If you don’t know the backstory of us, here’s a brief overview of where it all began:
In 2019, Kiley opened Electric Goodies on Depop to help pay her bills in college. It was a fun side hustle for her. Her plans were to graduate college and head out into the real world, but COVID had other plans. In 2020, Kiley decided to leave Louisiana, and Colleen Illinois, strangers both headed west to the great state of Colorado. We both were in the same position: we graduated college and the world shut down.
In January 2021, we both started a job at Goodwill listing their donated goods online. We instantly connected at that job over our love and passion for sustainability, fashion, and vintage. After work beers led to crazy dreams of quitting our jobs and pursuing Kiley’s once side hustle — full time. It’s officially been 1 year and 3 months of paying our bills through our small business. I’m so grateful that we made the leap and are now having the problem of outgrowing our small space we work out of everyday.
So what exactly is the money going towards?
The $6500 would be used as a start up capital. At the most basic level, this includes things such as rent, utilities and business insurance for the first couple of months. A new retail space also means we will need to increase our product inventory and furnish the space (of course, with sustainably thrifted goodies and local artists work).
This shop is more than the growth of Electric Goodies, it’s a space for us to connect with our local community. We want to see artists, collectors, resellers, creators and everything in between excel in our space alongside us. We want to create a safe space for women, people of color, and queer folks to shop, hang out and support each other.
Just like no dream is too small, no donation is too small. Your love, support, and validation will help us keep the ball rolling. We urge you to share this on your social medias, with your friends, to your support group, hey, even to your rich uncle. Support local, support women, support queer folks and let’s work to keep our money within our community.
