<div>In late August 2025 Mrs. Elana Perez, a wife, and mother of three children, and two grandbabies, had a routine breast exam with a resulting diagnosis of stage 1 breast cancer. This news has been exceedingly overwhelming.

<div>Mrs. Elana has spent her life devoted to raising their children, working several jobs most of her career, and lovingly giving back to those around her.

</div>

<div>She's been graciously assisting her husband, Professor William (Bill) Perez, in coaching Jiu-jitsu and self-defense to children and adults in our local community, as well as offering the much needed help working in the evenings as a secretary and an accountant at their academy.

</div>

</div>

<div>After this diagnosis, Mrs. Elana has had to pause most of her work in order to get the medical testing and treatment that she is in need of. And with the uncertainty of what lies ahead, the journey to recovery is daunting. These initial weeks alone have been mentally, physically, and financially draining.

</div>

<div>With regards to Elanas treatment plan things have been moving quickly. Mrs. Elana is has had several mammograms and genetic mutation breast cancer testing. Last week she had an MRI, as well as radiation and chemotherapy testing. This week Mrs. Elana has had two separate EKG's to get her cleared for surgery. She's scheduled for a lumpectomy surgery in mid-September. Mrs. Elana will require targeted radiation therapy, hormone therapy and medications to offset the side-effects of some of the prescriptions. Her treatment plan continues to develop as new test results become available.
