HELP Eileen & Dave Jordan NOW

Donation protected

Dear Family, Friends, Neighbors, Extended Family, and Acquaintances,

For many years our dear cousin, Eileen Jordan, has hosted our family gatherings along with her husband Dave. These gatherings were likely very expensive. They are now in need of our assistance. They have given generously and selflessly for years, and hopefully we will be able to give back to them now in their time of great need.

Presently, Dave is battling severe health issues. In Eileen’s own words she describes what is occurring.

*It follows: “Dave was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 2 years ago. He had major surgery to remove part of his pancreas, part of his small intestines, and his gall bladder. Doctors basically reconstructed his digestive system, called a "whipple procedure". His doctors gave us hope because it was caught early and the cancer was localized. They were very confident they would get it all. The surgeon recommended chemo as a preventive measure. So after completing 6 months of chemo, Dave had 2 cat scans; one at 3 mos and the other at 6 mos. The 2nd scan indicated the cancer was back. His oncologist suggested chemo again. He only had 2 treatments when his tumor markers tripled!! She recommend to stop chemo and try radiation ... that was 5 weeks of radiation, Mon-Fri; very intense. I believe that caused Dave's health to really deteriorate. A month after radiation, he started chemo again; with the plan to continue for 3 mos and then have another cat scan.

Dave lost his beautiful hair, had serious digestive issues, was hardly eating and slept often. Overall, he lost a total of 80 lbs. With his quality of life diminishing (to non-existent), we reachedl out to 2 other doctors: a naturopathic doctor in San Diego and a pancreatic cancer specialist at the University of Chicago. The naturopathic doctor recommended 7 supplements to improve his quality of life; by boosting his immune system, strengthening his muscles, heart, bones, and increasing his energy. The Univ of Chicago doctor suggested we meet with the clinical trial team. But we were later told Dave did not qualify for a trial because, based on their review of his last cat scan, the cancer spread to his abdomen. We hit a dead-end and was told he perhaps only had a few months to live. Obviously devastated by that news, we began planning a trip to visit his daughters/grandchildren and his mom (at opposite ends of the country).

Dave didn't think he'd be able to do all that traveling so we are now flying Dave's 2 daughters and 2 of his 3 grandchildren (from AZ) to spend a week with us. It will be bittersweet. Then IF Dave is strong enough, we plan to travel to WV to see his mom, as she is not able to make the trip to us.

Our "blessing  in disguise " is that my temporary job ended so I now have the time to be with Dave; he is my first priority! When we got married almost 9 years ago, I always joked with Dave and told him ... "I want 30 years!" I guess God had a different plan!”

************************************
We don’t know presently how much time he has with us on this earth. Therefore, we are arranging a GO FUND ME ACCOUNT to help them with their expenses and  to  reunite their family.

Not only money is important, but your prayers are greatly needed to support them. They will need these prayers to God to lean into for support. More things are wrought through prayer than we could ever imagine.

Please find it within your heart to reach out to Dave and Eileen with whatever donation you are comfortable in giving.

With great gratitude,

Family and Friends of Eileen and Dave Jordan
