<div>Our dear sister Effie has suffered a devastating loss. Just a few years after losing her beloved mother in 2019, Effie’s father—her last surviving parent—has suddenly passed away.

<div>For Effie and her younger sister, this loss is overwhelming. Their father was the anchor of their family, the provider, the protector, and the one who ensured his children never went without. He worked tirelessly to support their education, including Effie’s studies as an international student here in Canada. His passing leaves not only an irreplaceable emotional void but also an urgent financial burden at a time when she is grieving.

<div>Effie has always been the heart of our community—showing up for others with love, meals, childcare, and encouragement, often without being asked. Now, it’s our turn to show up for her.

<div>We are raising funds to help Effie and her sister return to Cameroon to say goodbye to their father, contribute to his funeral, and cover the tuition that their father had been supporting. As an international student, these costs are far beyond what she can bear alone.

<div>Notre chère sœur Effie traverse une épreuve déchirante. Quelques années seulement après la perte de sa mère bien-aimée en 2019, son père — son dernier parent survivant — vient de s’éteindre brutalement.

<div>Pour Effie et sa petite sœur, cette perte est immense. Leur père était le pilier de la famille : le protecteur, le pourvoyeur, celui qui veillait à ce que ses enfants ne manquent de rien. Il a travaillé sans relâche pour soutenir leur éducation, y compris les études d’Effie en tant qu’étudiante internationale ici au Canada. Son départ laisse non seulement un vide émotionnel irréparable, mais aussi un fardeau financier urgent, alors même qu’elles sont en plein deuil.

<div>Nous levons des fonds afin d’aider Effie et sa sœur à rentrer au Cameroun pour faire leurs adieux à leur père, contribuer aux frais d’obsèques et couvrir les frais de scolarité qu’il assumait jusqu’ici. En tant qu’étudiante internationale, ces dépenses dépassent largement ses moyens.
