<div>On October 28, 2024, our beloved Edna Velasquez suffered a life-changing ischemic stroke at just 44 years old. Caused by high blood pressure, the stroke blocked blood flow to her brain, and in an instant, everything changed.

<div>Doctors weren’t hopeful. We were faced with an unthinkable decision: to let her go or fight for her. We chose faith over fear, knowing that God has the final say. After a critical brain surgery to place a shunt, the long, uncertain road to recovery began.

<div>At first, Edna couldn’t move or speak. But day by day, her strength and spirit began to shine through. Six months later, she can now talk, laugh with us, and move her right hand and toes. However, she has lost all movement on the left side and lower half of her body, and remains bedridden, unable to walk or care for herself.

<div>Edna spent four months in the hospital and a care facility. Sadly, when insurance stopped covering her care, she returned home under the loving care of her elderly mother and two children, who now tend to her every need around the clock.

<div>Our family is doing everything we can to cover the mounting costs of Edna’s care — medical supplies, medications, therapy, and daily assistance — all out of pocket. But the emotional and financial strain is heavy.

<div>We have unwavering faith that one day Edna will walk again. Until then, she needs constant care, love, and support.
