Help Edmonds Family Care for Rescued Pug and her Puppies
Donation protected
Many of you have heard Piggy's story, but if not, here's the short version (long version below):
Rescued pup is secretly pregnant, gives birth to pups, has expensive vet bills! The Edmonds family graciously adopted this abandoned girl and need help paying for the birth of her puppies and her future surgery to be spayed.
Longer version!
A pug was wandering our neighborhood for 36+ hours, clearly lost. She was finally rescued after giving up and laying under a bush in someone's front yard... exhausted, scared, and famished.
The Edmonds family agreed to take her in while we figured out what to do with her, but quickly fell in love and ended up adopting her. She started putting on some weight after a couple of weeks, but after her first vet appointment, we learned it wasn't her love of food that was making her large... It was little PIGLETS!!! (ie. puppies).
Just six days later, Piggy went into labor, and after 12 long hours was the proud mama of five pups - three boys and two girls. During the birth process, Piggy was in need of medical care, so Bailey took her to the ER vet, where they spent eight hours and over $1200 to care for her.
Several families in our neighborhood already helped pay for the first vet visit, which we are so grateful for!! It was that visit that revealed Piggy was going to be a mama! I would love to see our community continue to rally around them because this VERY unexpected expense is a large burden on this family. While they are so thankful to have Piggy in their lives and have been loving these babies so well, they weren't expecting this giant vet bill. FulI transparency: I also added $300 for her spay surgery and microchip.
I will attach the vet bill below. Thank you everyone for loving this sweet mama pug, her five babies and the Edmonds family!
**Please note! The babies have 8 more weeks until they are adoptable. Any donations will not be connected to securing a puppy so please do not use this platform to claim one. Please give both Piggy and the Edmonds some time to settle in with these new additions. Bailey will make a post when they are ready to find homes for these sweet babies!
