Eddie had a chance to leave Türkiye and escape their street dog massacre law on the 28th July 2026.   We now owe vet and transport fees after getting him successfully transported to England.   If you’re aware of the massacre law and the illegal culls going on in Türkiye, you know Eddie is one of the lucky ones.   But it comes at a cost and I need help repaying the kind vets and transport company that have allowed us to fundraise for their fees.
My name is George D.R.E.A.M — Dogs Rule Everything Around Me, is my passion project.   I originally rescued Eddie on 3rd January 2025 and began training and home adapting him through his traumas and triggers.  He’s amazing now and ready for adoption.  In December 2025, he had to move to a temporary shelter while I can back to England for work.  When I returned in June 2026 to visit him, I found that his physical condition had deteriorated hugely.  Around 15% of his bodyweight lost and ribs and spine showing through his skin.   After spending two weeks living and working at the shelter, I decided I could no longer leave Eddie there.

I removed him in an emergency rescue.
I later found out through other rescue projects and individuals involved in rescuing that this shelter was known for mistreating dogs, kept them in poor condition, diseased and even had deaths in their “care”. Getting Eddie out was only the beginning.

The shelter refused to hand over his passport and rabies certificate. I had to seek help from the local Jandarma police to recover them.   Eddie and I then spent five days living and sleeping in a rented car along with 2 other rescues (Luna and Sosis) while I searched for somewhere safe to take him.
Eventually I secured temporary kennelling for Eddie in Fethiye with a vet I’ve worked with since 2021.
On arrival at the vet’s kennels, 10th July 2026 Eddie weighed just under 12kg.  They worked to help rebuild his nutritional condition before his transport date.  Eddie was successfully transported to London on the 28th July 2026 with Helen Kingman of 4 Paws Pet Transport.

I have known Helen for a few years. She previously helped me transport another rescued dog, Bakki, from Türkiye to his new home in London.  We have continued supporting each other’s rescue work ever since and that relationship is why she has accepted transporting Eddie for delayed payment.  Just when we thought we were ok, the accommodation we had previously agreed changed their mind within a few days and rejected having dogs at the property.   We are now in temporary accommodation provided by one of Eddie’s long time supporters.  Despite the local council urging me to give them up to the RSPCA in order to accommodate me, I’d rather be on the streets with them than see them back in strange kennels.   Eddie’s next stop will be his forever home, until then, he will be safe with me and the other dream dogs.  COSTS: Transport costs £1,250.
£500 for the kennel costs, food, administration for UK/EU health certificates and veterinary coordination required for his journey. Our fundraising target is £1,750.
If you cannot donate, please share his fundraiser with someone who might.
