HELP EBONY BEAT CANCER

Donation protected
If you haven’t had the chance to meet my best friend. I’d like to introduce you to her now. Her name is Ebony Gray Payne. If you’ve ever stepped foot onto a softball field chances are she’s hit a P-Rod or two at you, you’ve had the pleasure of playing with her, watched her, or played against her.  She’s played with multiple teams throughout the United States, On and Off the Black Softball Circuit. From Tournament ball to College to League. If you haven’t had this opportunity, let me tell you a little more about my best friend of over 19 years…

Ebony is more than the sports she plays. She is beautiful and strong. Hardworking and Honest. She is private and independent. She’s A FIGHTER! Ebony is 35 years old and has a beautiful 11 year old daughter named Yami. She is newly engaged to the love of her life, Lyndon.

Oh and she’s funny. Like hilarious!

I NEVER in a million years thought I would be struggling to find the words to describe one of the utmost important people that I love the most in this world. I’m not struggling because there’s not much to say about her, but because there is so much more to her than you could ever imagine.  There are no words to describe what she means to me, her family, and her friends. But if I had to pick one to describe her, it would be “Winner”. Ebony doesn’t /refuses lose at anything. She steps up to the plate, stands stall, takes a deep breath, and comes through in the clutch. And this is what she will do in the face of cancer.

Recently Ebony was diagnosed with a very rare type of Pancreatic cancer. She has a Neuroendocrine tumor on her pancreas that is malignant. The cancer is encased within her own blood vessels that run to and supply her intestines with blood. This type of cancer is untreatable by chemotherapy and will require extensive research, many doctors’ visits, and major surgery. It is in stage 4 and has been seen in scans as early as 2014.

Ebony has a huge mountain to climb, but knowing her, she will bust right through it!

I am looking to raise funds to support Ebony in this battle and to help ease the financial burden along the way.  The goal is to get her the treatment available, no matter what or where. It is very expensive and she is already accumulating cost outside of her insurance coverage.

All donations and funds will be used to help cover all related medical treatment and support that in which is not covered by insurance. Ebony is still somehow managing to work her fulltime job in addition to the various doctor’s appointments and labs required for her treatment. However, she is exhausted and I am most certain stressed. She drives from state to state to see multiple doctor’s monthly, as well as local appointments weekly. These donations will also assist in covering basic necessities and living expenses to elevate any financial hardships that may occur along with gas and travel arrangements for her out of state appointments.

So, with tears streaming down my face and God’s grace I am asking for your prayers and support, whether it is encouragement or financial donations of any amount. This is me taking the leap of faith and the courage to ask for your kind help, in the hopes that her prayers are answered through your blessings.
