I am a single mom doing everything I can for my three-year-old twins. After my mother asked us to leave her home, we have been living in our car for over a week and a half. My twins both have multiple diagnoses, which makes it difficult for them to stay in school, and they require three different therapies to support their development. Right now, both of them are sick and need medication, and I am struggling to provide the basics for them—food, clothes, and pull-ups.

I have reached out to over 20 shelters, but they are either full, have strict rules that don’t allow us in because of my kids’ behavioral needs, or I don’t qualify because I am not currently employed. We have no family or support system to turn to, and I am doing my best to keep my kids safe and cared for. My car is our only shelter and the only way I can get my twins to their therapy appointments, but I am having trouble keeping up with the payments and gas costs.

I am asking for help to cover the cost of a hotel for at least two weeks so I can have a safe place for my kids while I work on finding a more stable situation. Any support will go directly to our immediate needs—housing, food, medication, therapy, and keeping our car running.
