Help Ease the Burden for Dad's Cancer Battle

Hi everyone. My dad was diagnosed with SCLC (small cell lung cancer) on 6/24. Since May, it has spread from his lungs to his lymph nodes, pancreas, liver, and adrenal glands. It’s taken weeks to get this diagnosis because he has been back on blood thinners due to his A-fib. He finally had a liver biopsy done last Thursday. He has been in the hospital for the last month, just getting weaker and weaker. He needs rehab, but no rehab will take him on chemo. He can’t even stand on his own or walk. So, we are really in a tough place. Chemo will start via IV tomorrow, 3 times a week every 3 weeks. His chemo port will be put in on Thursday once he is off the blood thinners for enough days. Blood work will be done on the non-chemo weeks.

For anyone that knows me, knows how close me and my father are. I’ve never felt this type of pain in my life and wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. My mother is the sole provider for her and my dad and with how serious my dad’s condition is, my mom is not going to be able to work and leave him alone. No one ever wants to ask for help EVER, but I know my parents and I’ve watched them give their last so many times to help anyone!

Anything is truly appreciated. My parents deserve the world! And the least I could do is try and make my dad’s final days a little bit easier for him and my mom. It’s never easy to ask for help, so thank you everyone for donating, sharing, praying, visiting, babysitting, everything!
