I am raising funds to help a family member who has recently received a diagnosis of stage 4 cancer. His immediate financial burden includes the need for travel expenses to his doctor appointments and chemo treatments, and other medical needs not covered by his insurance.

Maybe a greater hardship comes from the fact he is self-employed, so he has been having great difficulty working. He is currently able to work only about 20 hours most weeks. Not being able to work means not being able to earn money to pay basic and necessary bills such as electricity, water & sewer, and heat, etc. The goal of $5,000 for this fundraiser is only a starting point and may easily double depending on how effective his treatments are and how quickly he may be able to go back to work.

I would like to help relieve some of his worries about finances so that he could focus on his treatment and healing.
