My daughter Abbi has been in and out of the emergency room all last week. At first it was thought that she may have a virus since there are so many things going around and she was vomiting profusely and could not keep anything down, not even ice chips.
Abbi’s fiancé Harrison has been tirelessly taking care of her and has not left her side since this all began. Abbi and Harrison have been unable to work due to the seriousness of her illness. Abbi has been diagnosed with EDS (Ehlers-Danlos syndrome). Although we thought most of her life that it only affected her skin elasticity, it has now progressed into other issues.
Abbi was flown to Milwaukee on Saturday night and it was anticipated that she would have to have surgery for a possibly torn esophagus. After tests were done it was found that her esophagus was not torn however she still had air around her heart. After sitting in the Milwaukee ER all night on meds, Abbi was discharged and we drove home.
This morning, Abbi started vomiting again and has pain in her sternum. She is now back at the emergency room in town and I am waiting to hear what our next step is.
Abbi is a kind hearted soul that does anything that she can to help others when they’re in need. She always has a big welcoming smile for anyone that she knows and I can honestly say that I don’t know one person that doesn’t like Abbi.
Abbi has many bills that will need to be paid and have already started rolling in since she has been off work. They will both have to miss many days of work as we do not know how long she will be in the hospital and recovering.
If you can find it in your heart to donate, share, or send good vibes and prayers she would greatly appreciate it.
