Help Dustin Overcome Relapse & Avoid Eviction

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Dustin, and I’m 38 years old.
I’m reaching out in a moment of deep need and vulnerability, and I appreciate you taking the time to hear my story.

I battled meth addiction 15 years ago and managed to stay clean for 14 of those years. Sadly, in December of last year, I relapsed due to unresolved psychological issues that I’ve struggled with for years.
These issues pushed me into a period of intense self-destruction, which led to the end of a 13-year relationship, the loss of my two beloved dogs, and ultimately, the loss of my job.

Last summer marked the beginning of this downward spiral. After my breakup, I moved. I thought I could handle the loneliness and isolation of living alone (for the first time ever), but my unresolved trauma quickly led me back to old habits. What started as “just once” soon became a daily, habitual use of meth. My job, which I had loved and worked from home for five years, suffered greatly, and on February 29th, the same day I received my treatment plan, I was let go.

The job loss made me abandon my treatment plan and spiraled me deeper into depression and drug use. I had savings that sustained me for a while, but after four months, I was left with nothing. During this time, I contemplated self-harm and even suicide. Thankfully, with the support of some amazing friends, I avoided such a tragic outcome.

I am now proud to say that I have been clean for two weeks, as of July 29th. To be perfectly frank, the first week was hell, and I questioned whether it was worth it. But once I got through it, I stood over the remains of my life and started the process of picking up the pieces

Unfortunately, I’m behind on my rent and have received a 14-day eviction notice. I am currently two months behind and soon to be three. I’m determined to turn my life around, but I need your help to avoid eviction and secure a stable foundation as I continue my recovery and job search.

Your contributions will go directly towards catching up on my rent so i can focus on recovering my life and mental health. Even if you can’t contribute financially, sharing my story can make a huge difference.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your support means the world to me, and I am incredibly grateful for your kindness.

This journey, which started 15 years ago, is far from over, but I am committed to addressing my issues in a healthier and more rational manner.

Here’s to continuing this fight with the strength and determination I know I have.
Thank you for your time, your understanding, and your support.

Sincerely,
Dustin
