Help Ducky Fight FIP

Donation protected

My name is Jesse, and I adopted ducky from an SPCA in February of 2020.  I was told he had an existing eye deformity that didn’t bother him any, but I soon realized there was something wrong with him internally. He stole my heart from the very beginning, but now I am scared he won’t make it.

Both my boyfriend and I have watched him go from a playful cat that would run everywhere to a cat that barely moved out of bed, refused food, was nauseous, and went from 5lbs to 4.3lbs at 7 months old.

He was diagnosed with FIP,  which is fatal in most cats and has no cure. He has liquid around his kidneys and has gone neurological. He spins, is wobbly, and no longer cleans himself, along with his decrease appetite.

I have found a support group that advised of a medicine, that is not going to be covered by any kind of insurance, and costs anywhere from $80-160 for a vial. I really want to try this but we are financially drained. Insurance has reimbursed us very little for all the vet bills we paid out. We have paid over $750 in deductibles, because they kept slotting things as different conditions. In total, including all the deductibles and medicines, supplements, tests, exam fees, etc, we have spent well over one and half grand.

I want to give Ducky a fighting chance. The donations would go to his care, treatments, medicine and if he doesn’t make it unfortunately, the cost to take care of that situation. Please help me help Ducky.

Update 4/3: thank you for all the support! I have decided to give Ducky the meds since I am confident I can have support and keep providing them to him! He got his first dose yesterday and he was a lot better. Hopefully he keeps improving! For more updates, see his Facebook page too, Ducky Fights Through FIP!

Update 4/29: Ducky is doing well! I post a lot to his Facebook page and don’t post as much here. However, he has gained weight and now weighs 6lbs. His dose has increased to compensate the weight he’s gained, and now he goes through approximately 3 vials of medicine a WEEK. To finish out treatment, I will need over 20 more vials. I really need the support because this medicine runs us $80-100 per vial currently.
