Hello, I'm Duane...
On July 5th, my son Ethan and I took his dirt bike to a mechanic shop for service. On our way home, we stopped off at the local grocery store for a bit. When we came out of the store, we found that his bike carrier (which he just purchased) had been the victim of a hit-and-run in the parking lot.
The grocery store has cameras but will only release the footage to the police (not sure if my car was in frame on their cameras). The police filed an incident report and told me to take it up with my insurance. My insurance denied my claim. The police said they cannot file a crash report because the damage is under $1000.
I can see that we are getting nowhere with the grocery store, the police, or the insurance company.
My son is 15, he's such a good kid, has a great attitude, and he saved for a long time for the dirt bike and carrier. The bike is still in the shop, and we don't have a way to go pick it up currently. I am just hoping people would be willing to help us out.
I'm a single dad, I have full custody of my 2 kids, and we don't have a lot of extra $$$.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!
