PLEASE Help, Dr.Ralph got a Heart Transplant

Hi. I am Claudia, Ralph's wife. I was approached by a couple of Ralph's former grad assistants and mentees that he has worked with through the years and wanted to do something for him to help during what has been and continues to be a difficult time for our family. I have not shared with many as it was not my story to share until now at Ralph's request and the request of those that want to tell his story and want to help. So at the request of those that he has worked with and mentored and love him and wanted to help. Here is their message:

Hi, We are am writing on behalf of Dr. Ralph Cornwell, Jr, who was my mentor at Yale University/Virginia Tech/Elon University/NCA&T/ West Point, UNCG...to name a few, We are or have assisted him in his research and looking at how we save the brains of our athletes from concussions. Dr. Ralph suddenly fell sick last month and was rushed to the Yale Cardiac Unit. It was determined that his current heart was not able to support life, so he was immediately put on the transplant list. Dr. Ralph was moved to the top of the National Donors List because he was so sick, but also the cardiac team working on him felt he would do well because he was in good physical shape with the exception of his very sick heart. A successful and complete heart transplant was performed approximately 4 weeks ago. Dr. Ralph has helped so many of us over the years in so many different ways and now, Dr. Ralph needs your help. There are so many expenses that we don't want Dr. Ralph to stress over associated with this surgery and aftercare, and the many medications like anti-rejection drugs. I ask that you give what you can and allow Dr. Ralph to recover without having to worry about the cost of health care. Thank you for taking the time to help.
