<div>I am Hesham Qasem, a urologist at Al-Shifa Hospital, and I am married with a beautiful little family. My wife, Lina, is a dentist, and we have a precious baby who is less than a month old. When the war broke out, I immediately went to fulfill my duty as a doctor at the Indonesian hospital in northern Gaza. I remained there until it was forcibly evacuated.

<div>I lost my newly built home, completed just five months before the war. I had invested time and effort into furnishing it to make it comfortable, warm, and beautiful for myself and my family, whom I was preparing to start a life with. This home, which I spent around $20,000 on, was all I could afford from my salary, and now it lies in ruins and ashes.

<div>Not only that, but my pregnant wife, in her fifth month, and I were forced to evacuate under shelling. We fled to the southern part of the strip, where the occupation claimed it was a safe haven. But as usual, it was all a lie. We had to flee and relocate multiple times in the south, narrowly escaping each time.
</div>
<div>In the end, God blessed us with a gift: my firstborn son, Jamil. This sweet little one came into the world in a dismal, miserable tent, enduring extreme cold in the winter and stifling heat in the summer. There are no living conditions here, nothing to protect my son from germs and diseases. Moreover, the sandy ground in the summer brings out scorpions and biting reptiles from beneath our feet.

<div>We were living as a nice little family, a quiet and happy life, we were preparing to live our most beautiful times and make beautiful memories for my first child until the war began and everything was destroyed and <strong>everything beautiful turned into a nightmare in a short time</strong>.

<div><strong><em>Currently, I have to walk more than a kilometre to get purified drinking water and stand for hours on the water line</em></strong>. Every day I need to go look for diapers and milk for my child in light of the lack of enough money for all this.

<div>I don't want to leave Gaza. I love this country and its people, and I want to spend my life serving it. But here, I'm forced to ask for your help in rebuilding the life that occupation destroyed. We need a new hope to continue surviving.
