Help Drew Hire Adelaide Road Trip FREEDOM BUS

When the University of Adelaide announced Peter Høj's appointment as Vice-Chancellor, I promised to lead a mission to link up with my friends in the Adelaide Uyghur community to oppose him over his history of close dealings with the Chinese dictatorship. After holding campus protests at UQ against the Chinese state's brutal treatment of Uyghurs, Tibetans and Hong Kongers, Peter Høj personally directed a stunningly intrusive, systematic surveillance campaign against me that would eventually produce more than 15,000 pages worth of internal UQ documents relating to my activities. He spent millions on international law firms to try and permanently bar me from my own university. Now he thinks he can just gallavant off to another leading Australian university for a new five year contract worth millions. The elite don't care - they know him through their cocktail parties where he undoubtedly provided great explanations as to why UQ courses funded by the Chinese government taught Uyghur Genocide apologia under his watch. But will we, the public, just sit idly by and put up with him being rewarded with new million dollar contracts after this terrible behaviour? We demand better.

So this week, we will be travelling to Adelaide in style. We're hiring a minibus to make the 23 hour trip across 2,000 kilometers of desert outback road. It is absolutely bonkers but that's precisely the point - we will lead a convoy through the countryside, banners and streamers held aloft, touring across Australia to stand against t those who enable China's fascist dictatorship. If you can donate to help us hire the minibus, we would greatly appreciate it. A documentary film maker will accompany us and anyone who donates will be invited to the eventual screening and see their names acknowledged in the credits. Any money raised above our target will go towards my new non-profit Defend Democracy, so as to keep growing the movement!
