I fractured my tibia and tore my ACL - both requiring surgery. I had my first surgery to repair the fracture with permanent rods and screws. But I was told immediately that I would also need ACL reconstructive surgery, or else I could become permanently disabled.

<div>I'm used to being the one helping others — now I need help myself. I'm not giving up. I believe in healing and in the power of community. I've served mine through children's programs, youth festivals, and literacy pop-ups - and now I'm asking for that same community spirit in return.
