Despite this condition, she has managed to maintain an almost normal professional, academic, and personal life for most of the years, thanks to her discipline with treatment and her extraordinary strength. She has carried out her medical work with dedication, has trained generations of students, and has lived an active and productive life.

<div>However, in recent years—especially since the pandemic—the disease has progressed significantly. The severe deterioration in her left knee causes constant and debilitating pain. This has greatly limited her mobility, affecting her daily activities as well as her ability to fully perform her professional duties. On her most difficult days, the pain prevents her from carrying out even basic tasks on her own.

<div>After multiple medical evaluations, several specialists have agreed that the most appropriate option to improve her condition is joint replacement surgery, specifically the placement of a prosthetic implant in her left knee. This intervention would allow her to regain mobility, reduce pain, and resume her professional and teaching activities, while significantly improving her quality of life and independence.

<div>However, <strong>the costs associated with the surgery and the rehabilitation process are considerably high</strong>, and our family does not have the resources to cover them in full. <div>No obstante, en los últimos años —especialmente desde la pandemia— la enfermedad ha progresado de manera significativa. El desgaste severo en su rodilla izquierda le ocasiona un dolor constante e incapacitante. Esto ha limitado gravemente su movilidad, afectando tanto sus actividades cotidianas como su capacidad para desempeñarse plenamente en su profesión. En los días más difíciles, el dolor le imposibilita incluso realizar tareas básicas por sí misma.

<div>Después de múltiples evaluaciones médicas, varios especialistas han coincidido en que la opción más adecuada para mejorar su condición es una cirugía de reemplazo articular mediante la colocación de una prótesis en la rodilla izquierda. Esta intervención le permitiría recuperar su movilidad, disminuir el dolor y retomar sus actividades profesionales y docentes, además de mejorar significativamente su calidad de vida e independencia.

<div>Sin embargo, <strong>los costos asociados a la cirugía y al proceso de rehabilitación son considerablemente elevados</strong>, y nuestra familia no cuenta con los recursos suficientes para cubrirlos en su totalidad. Pérez, han trabajado con ella o han sido beneficiados por su dedicación profesional, así como de cualquier persona que desee apoyarla.
