Hello, 

I am Dr. Ali Al-Nweiry , an orthopedic surgeon from Gaza. I will tell you my brief lovely story.

I used to live a happy, beautiful, and peaceful life with my beloved wife, son, mother, father, brother, and his family in a three-story building. 
 
كنت أعيش كأي عائلة سعيدة ،تحب حياتها الهادئة والجميلة برفقة زوجتي رفيقة دربي، وابني و أمي وأبي وأخي وعائلته ، في مبنى واحد مكون من ثلاث طوابق .

During the war, I continued practicing my profession to treat the injured and perform surgeries for hours in the early morning without fatigue or boredom. 
 
طيلة أيام الحرب استمريت أمارس عملي بكل انسانية وحب، فقد كنت أعالج المصابين والجرحى والقيام بالعمليات لساعات الصباح الأولى دون كلل أو ملل .

On October 29, 2023, my life turned upside down. That day, I finished my shift at the hospital after working until the early hours of dawn in surgeries. Then I went home to see my wife and family, trying to get some rest and sleep to prepare for the next day at the hospital. 
 
و في يوم 29/10/2023 انقلبت حياتي رأسا على عقب، حيث يومها أنهيت مناوبتي بالمستشفى الذي كنت فيه، بعد أن عملت حتى ساعات الفجر الأولى بالعمليات ، ثم ذهبت كعادتي الى بيتي لأطمئن على زوجتي وأهلي، ولأحظى بالقليل من النوم والراحة استعدادا للذهاب في اليوم التالي للمستشفى الذي أعمل فيه . 
 
After having breakfast with my wife and son, I decided to tell my wife the bad news I had for her. Her friend, Dr. Duaa Awad, had been martyred along with her entire family (my wife is also a doctor and works with me at the same hospital, but due to special circumstances, she couldn't work during the war). 
 
وبعد أن تناولت وجبة الفطور مع زوجتي وابني قررت ان أخبر زوجتي بالخبر السيء الذي أحمله لها ، حيث أن صديقتها الدكتورة "دعاء عوض" قد استشهدت هي وكل عائلتها ( زوجتي ايضا كانت طبيبة وتعمل معي بنفس المستشفى ، ولكن لظروف خاصة لم تستطيع العمل أثناء هذا الحرب ) . 
 
After my wife was shocked by the news, shed tears, and I comforted her, making sure she was okay, I decided to take some rest to prepare for the next day's work. 
 
لم تتحمل هذا الخبر الحزين، كونها فقدت أغلى صديقاتها ولم تتماسك دموعها التي ذرفتها أمامي، فما كان مني الا أن أواسيها وخففت عنها ، وبعد ان تأكد أنها بخير، قررت ان أخذ قسطا من النوم والراحة كي أستعد لعملي الشاق لليوم التالي . 
 
But when I lay my head on the pillow, I woke up to find myself in the hospital, unable to move after my house was bombed with everyone inside by warplane missiles. 
 
وبعد ان وضعت رأسي ع الوسادة بقليل استيقظت لاجد نفسي بالمستشفى غير قادر على الحركة بعد ان تم قصف المنزل بمن فيه بصواريخ الطائرات الحربية .

In an instant, everything beautiful in my life disappeared forever: my wife, son, father , mother , my brother and his family , and even my home. I can no longer practice my profession as a doctor due to a spinal cord injury and paraplagia . 
 
وبلحظة قد اختفى كل شيء جميل في حياتي للابد : زوجتي وابني واهلي كلهم وبيتي حتى عملي لم اعد قادر على ممارسة عملي كطبيب بسبب كسر بالعمود الفقري وشلل نصفي . 
 
My once beautiful, peaceful, and stable life will never return. 
 
فحياتي الجميلة الهادئة المستقرة لن تعود للابد.

I will brief you about my family: 
 
- My wife, her name is Enas Al-Haj Youssef, was not just my wife but also my beloved, my sweetheart, and the love of my life. She was in sexth of pregnancy ( unfortunately، we didn't have a chance to find out the baby's gender. however , destiny had a name already chosen for him " martyr " ). She worked as an emergency room and reception physician at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital (the hospital where I work). She was preparing to join the Palestinian board program for family medicine specialization, but the war ended her life and her aspirations. She was always dedicated to her work and spared no effort to serve the patients. Losing her was the biggest shock in my life , but she will remain in my heart until my last day. 
 
سوف اخبركم عن عائلي بشكل مختصر : 
 
زوجتي : اسمها ايناس الحاج يوسف ، لم تكن زوجتي فقط بل كانت حبيبتي ومعشوقتي وحب حياتي. لقد كانت حامل بالشهر السادس ( ولترتيبات القدر لم يتسنى لنا معرفة جنس الجنين ، ولكن القدر اختار له اسم " شهيد" ) .لقد كانت تعمل طبيبة طواريء واستقبال بمستشفى شهداء الاقصى ( المستشفى التي اعمل فيها ) وكانت تستعد للالتحاق ببرنامج البورد الفلسطيني لتخصص طب العائلة ولكن جائت الحرب وقضت عليها وعلى احلامها ، لقد كانت دائما مخلصة في عملها ولم توفر اي جهد لخدمة المرضى ، فقدانها هي اكبر صدمة في حياتي ولكنها ستبقى بالقلب لاخر يوم بحياتي .

- My son Hassan, who is three and a half years old, was very intelligent, and everyone acknowledged his intelligence despite his young age. He was excited to start going to kindergarten, but unfortunately, his first day coincided with the first day of the war, so he couldn't go. He was very excited about going to kindergarten, and he fell asleep with his kindergarten bag next to him due to his enthusiasm, but the war had other plans . 
 
ابني حسن : يبلغ من العمر ثلاث سنوات ونص ، ولقد كان ذكي جدا والكل يشهد له بالذكاء رغم صغر سنة ، لقد كان يستعد للذهاب الى روضة الاطفال ولكن لسوء حظه ان اول يوم دوام له كان اول يوم بالحرب لذلك لم يستطع الذهاب لها ، فلقد كان متحمس جدا للذهاب الى روضة الاطفال ولقد نام وحقيبة الروضة بجانبه من كثر حماسه بها ، ولكن كان للحرب راي اخر .

- My father, a mathematics teacher, was kind-hearted and never wronged anyone in his life. He served everyone, and he was very well-respected in the neighborhood. 
 
ابي : مدرس رياضيات ، كان طيب القلب ولم يظلم احد في حياته وكان يخدم الجميع ولقد كانت ذكراه طيبة جدا في الحي .

- My mother, a very affectionate and compassionate homemaker, also had a kind heart and loved her children, their spouses, and grandchildren very much. She used to gather her grandchildren every morning for breakfast and take them to the store to buy sweets. She was also highly regarded in the neighborhood. 
 
امي : ربة منزل كانت حنونة جدا وعطوفة جدا ، كانت طيبة القلب ايضا وتحب ابنائها وزوجات ابنائها واحفادها جدا ، لقد كانت تجمع احفادها كل صباح ليتناولو الفطور معها وتذهب معهم الى الدكان ليشترون الحلوى ولقد كانت ايضا ذكراها طيبة جدا في الحي .

- My brother works as a nurse and was planning to pursue a master's degree and advance in his field. He served everyone and always had a smile on his face. 
 
اخي : يعمل ممرض ، ولقد كان يخطط لاخد الماجستير والتطور في مجاله ، لقد كان يخدم الجميع ودائما صاحب الابتسامه على وجهه .

- My brother's wife works as a dentist, and she lived a peaceful and happy life with my brother. 
 
زوجه اخي : تعمل طبيبة اسنان ، ولقد كانت تعيش مع اخي حياة هادئة سعيدة .

- My brother's children, Mu'tasim and Hassan, were like brothers to my son Hassan. They played together every day, shared sweets, and loved each other immensely. 
 
اولاد اخي : معتصم وحسن ، كانو مثل الاخوة مع ابني حسن لقد كانو يلعبون يوميا مع بعض طوال النهار ويتقاسمون الحلوى بينهم ويحبون بعضهم لدرجة لا توصف .

- Our house, consisting of three floors, used to be a place of joy and happiness. We used to gather there almost daily in my mother's apartment, chatting and talking. It took away all the hardships of life and all the money we had accumulated throughout our lives, only to be leveled to the ground by military aircraft. 
 
بيتنا : كان مكون من ثلاث طوابق ، لقد كان منزل يسوده الفرح والسعادة وكنا نجتمع فيه بشكل شبه يومي في شقة امي وامي نتسامر ونتحدث ، لقد اخذ منا كل تعب العمر وكل الاموال التي جمعناها طوال حياتنا ، ليتم تسويته بالارض بفعل الطائرات الحربية .

what about my injury ? 
 
I suffered a spinal fracture after our house was bombed. I was diagnosed with a fracture in the first lumbar vertebra along with a spinal cord injury, resulting in paraplagia. Thanks to God, the lower right limb has improved significantly, but the left limb is still completely paralyzed, and I need extensive physical therapy that may last for years. 
 
اصابتي : لقد تمت اصابتي بكسر بالعمود الفقري بعد ان تم قصف المنزل ولقد تم تشخيصي بكسر بالفقرة القطنية الاولى مع اصابة بالحبل الشوكي ولقد نتج عنها شلل نصفي في كلا قدماي ولكن بفضل الله الطرف السفلي الايمن تحسن كثيرا و لكن الطرف الايسر مازال فيه شلل كامل واحتاج الى علاج فيزيائي لفترة طويلة جدا قد تستمر سنوات .

Why do I need this amount (80,000 € ) ? 
 
Firstly, it's for my long-term treatment journey ($30,000) as I need weekly physical therapy sessions. With no source of income, unable to work, and with no government or job or salaries in Gaza, I'm in desperate need of assistance. Secondly, it's for rebuilding my house ($50,000) as I lost everything after the house was bombed.

لماذا اريد هذا المبلغ ( 80000€ ) ؟ 

فهو اولا لرحلة علاجي الطويلة( 30000€ ) حيث انني احتاج الى جلسات علاج طبيعي بشكل اسبوعي ومع عدم توفر مصدر دخل حيث انني لا استطيع العمل ولم يعد هناك حكومة في غزة ولا وظائف ولا رواتب ، وثانيا (€ 50000 ) لبناء البيت وحياتي من جديد حيث انني خسرت كل شيء بعد قصف المنزل .
