Help Doug Overcome Cancer and Vision Loss

Donation protected
Our dear friend Doug, the heart behind Amethyst Creamery, is facing some of the toughest challenges of his life.

Just last year, he lost his beloved wife, Amy. Now, he is fighting kidney cancer while also slowly losing his eyesight to retinitis pigmentosa and glaucoma. Despite these heartbreaking struggles, he has continued to pour love and hard work into Amethyst Creamery — not only to keep his dream alive, but also to keep serving the community he cares so deeply about.

If you know Doug, you know he has always shown up for others. He’s raised money for fellow business owners in need, supported local causes, and gone out of his way to brighten the lives of those around him. His generosity and kindness have touched so many of us.

Now it’s our turn to show up for him.

Because of his cancer and glaucoma treatments, he must take two months off work, which means no income during that time. As a small business owner, that’s a heavy blow on top of mounting medical bills and daily living expenses.

We are asking our community, friends, and anyone moved by his story to help ease this burden. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward supporting Doug with living costs, medical expenses, and keeping Amethyst Creamery going until he can return.

Let’s come together to remind him that he is not alone in this fight. Please donate if you can, and share this campaign widely. Together we can give back to someone who has given so much of himself to all of us.

A Note From Diane
It took me a long time to convince Doug to let me do this for him. He has a hard time accepting help from others. As Doug’s friend, I’ve seen firsthand the love, hard work, and strength he shows every single day — even through heartbreaking loss and now his fight with cancer and vision loss. He is someone who lifts others up, and I believe we can do the same for him. Thank you for joining me in supporting him through this difficult time.
