Help Dottie's True Blue Cafe survive

Friends, family, and patrons…your help is tremendously needed.
As you well know, Dottie’s True Blue Café is a legend in San Francisco. For nearly two and a half decades, the owners and staff at Dottie’s have shared amazing meals and created beautiful memories with our patrons and neighbors. On March 13th, 2020 Dottie’s closed its doors to comply with the Governor’s Emergency Order to Shelter in Place during the COVID 19 pandemic. The restaurant was reopen on May 11th, 2020 to fulfill to-go orders only. And, continuing in its tradition of caring for customers and community, Dottie’s has donated countless meals to numerous community hospitals and clinics and is continuing to do so whenever possible.
Sadly, despite the efforts of owners and staff, Dottie’s revenue has dropped 98% compared to sales before the pandemic. The restaurant remains open now with minimal staff for carryout only, we are struggling to stay afloat financially. To complicate the situation even more, the landlord is refusing to make any adjustments to help with the rent that accumulated while the restaurant was required to close. We are exhausting all other remedies, we are now turning to the community, patrons, guests, and families we have served for years to request donations to help them through this difficult time.
It is never easy to ask for help, but sometimes there are no other options. Without donations and financial support from the community and anyone wishing to assist, Dottie’s may have to close its doors permanently. Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of relishing a fantastic meal there, hearing the laugher and enjoying the vibe, knows what a significant loss this will be for San Francisco. It would also be a heartbreaking ending for us, we given our hearts and souls to make Dottie’s True Blue Café a home away from home for so many.
Donations are needed immediately, and 100% of funds collected will be used solely for the survival of the restaurants, to pay staff, and to support their families. There are many faces and lives that come together to form the heartbeat of Dottie’s. This fundraiser is about so much more than a building, a landmark, or even a plate of terrific food. It is about the hostess who always greeted every customer with a warm smile. It is about the server who made you laugh and sang happy birthday to your family. It is about the cooks and bus staff that did their best to keep service running smoothly and perfecting each plate and table. This fundraiser is for all of them.
Whatever amount you can share is so very much appreciated. Any offering humbles the owners and staff beyond measure. We desire to raise just enough funds to continue pushing forward and moving towards better days. It is our most sincere hope to remain serving the San Francisco community for many, many years to come and to be allowed to extend a personal thank you to the beautiful souls that are able to contribute and can stop by Dottie’s in the future.
