<div>Earlier this year my mom, Dori Cotrone, was diagnosed with early-stage follicular lymphoma that doctor’s called a “boring cancer.” They reassured us that as long as it didn’t turn aggressive, many people live for years (or even decades) without major problems.

<div>Sadly, just 6 months later, everything changed. A new scan showed that my Mom needed spinal surgery ASAP to remove a large mass that was pressing on her nerves and causing mobility issues. The biopsy of the mass brought heartbreaking news: the follicular lymphoma had transformed into a rare, very aggressive stage 4 triple-hit diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

<div>This type of lymphoma grows and spreads quickly, so doctors are moving fast &amp; treatment will start October 6th. She will do six rounds of intensive inpatient chemotherapy, a 5-day-long infusion every three weeks, along with treatments delivered directly into her spinal fluid to protect her central nervous system. This is one of the toughest regimens but also the best chance at long-term remission and cure. And if you know us, we play to win, every time.

<div>My mom is my best friend. My whole world. And for the majority of my life, it’s always been just the two of us. She did everything she could to make sure that I was able to chase my dreams and at one point that meant working 3 jobs for many years. She is the reason I am who I am today. She has single handedly saved my life more times than I can count and there is nothing I won’t do to save hers.

<div>To know her is to love her. Many of you have seen Dori’s love and selflessness over the years: chaperoning our out-of-state and international figure skating competitions, driving us around as teenagers to keep us safe, hosting get-togethers at our home, and always creating a safe space for friends, family, and even strangers in need of support.

<div>Now, she’s facing months of extended hospital stays, side effects, and a long recovery. Even with insurance, this fight comes with out-of-pocket costs. This fund will go towards uncovered medical bills, lost income of 2 jobs, home help, travel so I can be there with her as much as possible, supplies to keep her comfortable at home, and everyday essentials to keep her strong.
