In January 2016, I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM). The doctors told me I would be wheelchair-bound by 2019, but through determination, a change in diet, and lifestyle adjustments, I have managed to stay mobile with minimal use of my motorized wheelchair. For most of my life, I have been actively involved in community service and outreach programs, and it has always been important to me to give back and help others.

 One of the ways I serve is through music—I play the piano and sing, sharing my talents in ministries at nursing homes and places of worship. This has brought joy and comfort to many, and it is a part of my life that I cherish deeply. Unfortunately, IBM is an incurable, progressive disease, and it has started to affect my balance and mobility more severely. Walking and being on my feet for extended periods inflames my muscles and causes me to fall more easily and frequently. While I do have a motorized wheelchair, I am only able to use it at home because I have no way to transport it. This has limited my independence and ability to participate in the activities and outreach programs that mean so much to me.

 Purchasing a wheelchair accessible van would be life-changing. It would allow me to travel safely with my wheelchair, maintain my independence, and continue my involvement in community service and music ministry without getting fatigued or risking injury. I would be eternally grateful for any support to make this possible.
