On July 31, my husband Donny slipped at the park and dislocated his knee, and fractured it in the process. We only learned a few days later that his insurance did not transfer when he changed departments in his job and we are paying out of pocket for the medical expenses. We are working to see if any of it can be covered by medicaid but I do not beleive we will qualify.

The ER visit and ambulance ride has been billed at just shy of 18,000 and his orthopedic care is running nearly 10,000 including the surgery he will need to remove a bone fragment.

We both work full time and have 3 kids under 5. We are seeking support through Colorado's FAMLI leave but that only covers our basic bills. So far we've put a lot on credit and do not have significant savings.

I dont expect this to be funded entirely but community support but anything helps and we are deeply grateful for anything anyone can give, even if its just a share. We're doing our best to manage but until we get better options.
