Meet Donna Papa
Donna has been battling the soul diminishing disease of multiple sclerosis for for her entire time as a mother. After raising 4 children she now has 7 beautiful grandchildren to spoil with love. However this has never been a easy task. In the last 10 years Donna has been permanently relying on a wheelchair to get around her home and her family to assist with her everyday task just as cooking ,cleaning and even putting on her makeup. Donna as much as she wanted to be strong and do things her self, her MS continued to take over. Simple task like watching after her newborn grandchildren became a task she could no longer do alone.
Her Husband Tony , Owner of a Sayville Lawn sprinkler company (T.D.K Heating & Irrigation) has spent his time building the company to provide the best life he possibly could to his wife Donna and their children. This was never an easy task because of Donna's MS he had to balance taking care of his Wife ,while attending to a growing customer base.
Even with the company continuing to grow it cannot support the new medical expenses that are about to burden the Papa family.
Just a week ago Donna was told she has Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer. Her world came crumbling down as now she realized she would have to battle both MS and Ovarian Cancer at the same time. This additional care will require Tony to spend less time with the only source of income to take care of his wife.
In order to survive this battle Donna will need a home health aid around the clock along with her Husband who has not been able to go to work in two weeks due to the enormous amount of doctor visits.
Even with health insurance she will need help paying for out-of pocket expenses, travel, and special dietary needs.
The Papa family is asking for their community to help them in their time of need in anyway they can. With every contribution,Donna will be one step closer to beating this battle and spending Christmas with her 7 grandchildren. Every little bit is beyond appreciated.

Donna has been working for Sayville School District for over 18 years. Countless bonds and friendships have been made in the town of Sayville of these years, she has become a bit of a Sayville Mascot.
Even after 24 years of battling MS she still used every bit of strength and will power she had to get up every single morning and go to work. Donna was told to retire a long time ago but it gave her reason and purpose to continue to get up and try to live as normal as she possibly could so she continued.
She will now have to take on the challenge of beating MS and Ovarian Cancer.
