<div>My name is Lorenna Gomes, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my beloved grandparents, Dirson De Mesquita (85) and Maria Helena Mesquita (81), who have recently been through a series of heartbreaking events.

<div>Earlier this year, in February, my grandfather suffered a serious accident—he slipped on ice outside his apartment complex and broke his hip. He underwent surgery and has been in recovery ever since, going through extensive physical therapy and living with us while healing.
</div>

</div>
<div>While he was recovering, their home was undergoing renovations to make it safer and more accessible for him to move around when he returned. Unfortunately, just as they were preparing to move back in, tragedy struck.
</div>

</div>
<div>On June 24th, a fire broke out in their condo due to spontaneous combustion of oily rags. The fire spread quickly and destroyed everything. Thankfully, no one was inside at the time—but they lost all of their belongings, memories, furniture, and the home they had worked so hard to create over the years. They had lived there since 1994—over 30 years of memories and milestones, gone in an instant.

<div>The fire caused around $70,000 in damage and completely displaced them. While they are currently living with us, they were forced out of the home they lived in for decades and can no longer return. My grandparents are now starting from zero—no clothes, no furniture, no essentials. Just weeks ago, they were hoping to return to a newly adapted home. Now, they’re trying to rebuild their lives once again from scratch.

<div>Meu nome é Lorenna Gomes e estou aqui pedindo ajuda em nome dos meus queridos avós, Dirson De Mesquita (85) e Maria Helena Mesquita (81), que recentemente passaram por uma sequência de acontecimentos devastadores.

<div>No início deste ano, em fevereiro, meu avô sofreu um grave acidente — ele escorregou no gelo em frente ao prédio onde morava e quebrou o quadril. Precisou passar por cirurgia e, desde então, vem se recuperando, fazendo fisioterapia intensiva e morando conosco durante esse período de reabilitação.

<div>Enquanto ele se recuperava, o apartamento deles estava passando por reformas para se tornar mais seguro e acessível para que ele pudesse se locomover com mais facilidade ao voltar para casa. Infelizmente, justamente quando estavam prestes a retornar, uma tragédia aconteceu.

<div>No dia 24 de junho, um incêndio começou no apartamento deles devido à combustão espontânea de panos com óleo. O fogo se espalhou rapidamente e destruiu tudo. Graças a Deus, ninguém estava em casa no momento — mas eles perderam todos os pertences, memórias, móveis e o lar que construíram com tanto esforço ao longo dos anos. Eles moravam lá desde 1994 — mais de 30 anos de lembranças e conquistas, perdidos num piscar de olhos.
