My name is Simon, and I recently started fostering a three-year-old pitbull named Dior. Dior found himself in a tough spot when his previous owners had to move into a new apartment, and the landlord refused to let him stay because of his breed. Even though Dior is gentle and loving, he was at risk of being sent to a shelter simply because of a stereotype. His owners are working to get him certified as an emotional support dog, but that process takes time, and Dior needed a safe place to stay right away. I couldn’t let him end up in a shelter, especially knowing that pitbulls face a higher risk of euthanasia, so I stepped in to foster him.

Dior has been with me for two weeks now, and he’s already shown what a wonderful companion he is. He loves going on walks, cuddling on the couch, napping in the sun, and playing tug-of-war. He’s truly a good boy with a gentle heart. Unfortunately, my landlord recently contacted me and said that I need to rehome Dior within a few days or face significant pet fees for every day he stays. The only other option would be to surrender him to a shelter, which I desperately want to avoid.

I’m asking for help to cover the unexpected pet fees and costs of caring for Dior while his emotional support certification is processed.
