<div>Hello I’m Jessica, Fundraising on behalf of my beautiful cousin Dillon, to help him get the only treatment available, to aid what is nicknamed the “suicide disease”; CRPS (Complex regional pain syndrome). It is a condition associated with the imbalance and malfunction of the autonomic nervous system.
In November 2022, 10 year old Dillon went to sleep a happy and healthy little boy, but woke up the next day robbed from the ability to even function, perform simple tasks, unable to walk and in agonising pain in his leg. After three months of chronic agony, screaming 24hrs a day, and unable to take the pain of even a crumb landing on his leg, he was finally diagnosed with CRPS. By this time he was bed bound, using a bath lift and a wheelchair to aid the torture of simply washing and using the toilet. He lost the right to go to school, play with his friends or go out with his family which has understandably taken a toll on this little boy’s mental health. Dillon has had CRPS for 6months now and can’t even stand wind or rain stroking his leg without the most horrific attacks of pain, causing hours of high pitched screaming. He has CRPS in three quarters of his leg and this disease has the nature to spread to other areas of his body if not treated or managed.
CRPS (Complex regional pain syndrome) is so rare that it took several doctors to diagnose and there is absolutely no treatment for it in the UK. As well as that, information on this horrific, heart wrenching disease is sparse and help and support is hard to find. Dillon lives in his bedroom, on opiates and strong adult neuropathic medication 24hrs a day, along side taking a cocktail of drugs to help being awake slightly bearable. Dillon’s Daddy passed away, so 24hr care is left to his Mummy and older sister who take it in shifts to be by his side, as well as looking after his other two brothers. Dillon and his family need our help.
The only treatment available in the world for CRPS is at the Spero Clinc, in Arkansas, USA and it would cost £100,000 to get Dillon there and pay for the treatment. We are hoping to raise some or all of this amount so we can get him there as soon as we can, and he can return to being a child as much as possible; doing mud slides, playing sports and following his dreams to be an astronaut.
